Mid Century Modern 1968 Nordmende Spectra C Radio Now Bluetooth Speaker & MP3

This is a 1968 Nordmende Spectra C highend stereo made in West Germany.  Bought at a recent radio show here. Love the lines, chrome and the size - long & low. It started out a very rough green color. This unit was built with a plastic veneer over particle board just like kitchen cabinets. Had to repair/re-glue some areas. Primed & painted it a beautiful banner red. Now that the outside is done time to improve the inside. It did not work so I removed the solid state circuit board that was broken to make way for the new electronics. Saved the knobs & very cool silver dial. Installed a new Pioneer 6" x 4" multi range speaker coupled to a powerful 100 watt digital Bluetooth amplifier. This amp also has separate treble & bass controls, nice option. Wanted to up the cool a little more. Added a piece of red plexiglass on the inside of the dial and new LED lites to make the lines on the dial pop. Installed a separate on/off switch for the dial lites on the back panel in addition to an MP3 jack. See pics. A real conversation piece that makes a grand statement .
